Powers and Abilities
Luke, like most characters in PJO, has a wild variety of abilities.
Demigod: Demigods in PJO have both universally shared traits and inherited aspects from their godly parents.
Demigod body: Universally, all demigods are born battle-ready. They are strong, fast, and really, really hard to kill.
Battle Ready: They have extremely sharp instincts and reflexes in battle, at the expense of being mildly-to-extensively ADHD outside of battle.
Ancient Greek: They can speak and read Ancient Greek naturally, but it makes reading in English rather difficult, manifesting as a rather severe dyslexia.
Super healing: Instead of being burned alive by ambrosia and nectar they are healed by it, as long as they don't eat or drink too much. Video game level mega potion heal.
Delicious!: All demigods are cursed to have a smell to monsters that lets monsters hunt them down and find them easily.
Like most demigods, Luke has a variety of little traits he inherited from Hermes. Hermes has a millions spheres of influence but very few overtly powerful or super useful.
Alchemy: Given a recipe, he's a natural at potion making, though he can't come up with his own or instinctively know a potion. Nor will he have any magical ingredients. Mostly, it'll probably mean he's a really good cook here.
Travel: He's got good navigation sense, even in magical labyrinths.
Thrift: He's good with money in general and have a decent gambling sense.
Communications: He will have innate skill using communication devices and the internet.
Swordplay: Like his father, Luke is an incredibly skilled swordsman. He's had over a decade of combat experience and training on top of natural talent. But that's more affinity and hard work than a supernatural skill.
Master Thief: Luke has some pretty strong magic when it comes to the larcenous side of things.
Trap Manipulation: He can sense traps, and with concentration, can tell exactly the nature of the trap, magical or otherwise. With an enormous amount of concentration and energy, especially for very complicated ones, he can telekinetically disarm the traps. This is not guaranteed, as Luke himself has expressed the ability to fail, but he's pretty good.
Lock Manipulation: He can do the same with locks; he holds his hand over them, concentrates, visualizing the pins and tumblers, and telekinetically opens the lock. The more complicated the lock, the more effort this takes. Locks seem to be MUCH easier for him than traps are.
Stealth: When he wants to be unnoticed, quiet and stealthy he can. He will blend into the shadows and be otherwise difficult to see clearly. He's stolen lightning from Zeus and a helm of darkness from Hades, right from their sides, in front of all 12 Olympian gods. More impressively, he's claimed to steal from the Camp store, which has to be VERY used to the children of Hermes and their tendency to liberate items (while the gods are kind of oblivious to everything but themselves).
Pickpocketing: Enhanced by magic, it's unlikely the victim can feel him taking things from a pocket or purse. He is somewhat hard to notice while he's doing this, but not impossibly so.
Saboteur: Given time and knowledge of where a battle will take place, he will be be very capable at setting up traps and sabotaging machinery. Sons of Hermes have been known to steal live landmines and replant them where they want.
Basically, he's a high level AD&D rogue. He doesn't LIKE these skills, but they are easily the ones he's the most powerful in.
Speed of Hermes:
Teleportation: Luke can simply disappear in a ripple of darkness and reappear somewhere else. I'll be playing it as an extremely fast form of air travel. This is a seriously draining skill and will be very limited in how often he can do this without risking his life. He can only take himself and what he's wearing/holding. It only works for short distances only. He probably needs to eat like a monster to recover. Calorie burn and all that.
Winged shoes - While wearing winged shoes, Luke is extremely fast (not quite superhero speedster but definitely well above human) and can fly. Given away in canon, he has them back for the RP. For now, they will NOT work well for him for a good while, if at all. Because the shoes do have a personality of their own and WILL NOT APPRECIATE HAVING BEEN SENT TO HELL. DESTROYED
(Questionably Canon/Non Canon) Acceleration - Luke has the ability to drastically increase the top speed of a vehicle he's in. This would be a tiring and time limited power.
